When Vidya Balan’s suggestion left Parineeta co-star Dia Mirza with a swollen eye: ‘She had to do the scene wearing sunglasses the next day’

Praising Dia Mirza, Vidya Balan said, “We have done Parineeta, Lage Raho Munnabhai, and then Bobby Jasoos where she was my producer. It was just amazing, I didn’t know she was always so gentle, and so loving, and now seeing her as a mother is just amazing. I have seen various avatars of her. She makes everything look effortless.”

Vidya also went on to share an anecdote from Parineeta shoot where a suggestion from the Bhool Bhulaiyya actress backfired for Dia. Vidya said, “I have lots of memories with her. We were shooting for Parineeta and she developed a stye on her eye. As a kid, when I had a stye, my mother said you should wrap hot rice in a cloth and keep it on the eye. I suggested that to Dia. The next day, it became worse. I will never forget that. She had to do the scene wearing sunglasses the next day. I felt so bad. After that, I stopped giving unsolicited advice to anyone. But she never brought it up. She was just too sweet.”

On the work front, Vidya Balan will be seen reprising the role of Manjulika in Bhool Bhulaiyyaa 3. The film is slated to release on November 1.
