When Dharmendra borrowed a milkman’s cycle, told Hema Malini to sit behind: ‘There were people running behind..’

Hema also recalled an incident when she was shooting for Razia Sultan in Jaipur with Dharmendra. She said, “We were all very tired. Our vehicle stopped at a railway crossing. So I said, ‘It’s been so long, the train has not come yet, how long do we sit.’ So Dharamji looked here and there, he spotted a milkman on his cycle and he stopped him. I thought. ‘Why is he getting down and what is he doing with this dhoodh wala?’ He told the milkman, “you wait, get down.’ The milkman got scared and gave him the cycle. Then he said, ‘Hema, come on, sit on the cycle. I sat on the backseat.”

The actor said that the hotel staff had expected them to arrive by car, but to their surprise, they arrived on bicycle. She said, “There were people running behind the cycle. That was a sight to see.” Hema became a huge star after she starred in Johny Mera Naam.
