Aishwarya Rai and Vikram have shared screen space in films like Ponniyin Selvan and Raavan, and their on-screen chemistry is loved by their fans. In a recent interview, when Vikram was asked about his friendship with Aishwarya in real life, the actor said that he shares a great bond with her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, as well. Vikram starred with Abhishek and Aishwarya in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan.

Talking to Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, “Abhishek is a very close friend of mine so automatically, the family becomes friends too. The thing is, Aishwarya and I, we have very good on-screen chemistry, like whether it was Raavan or whether it was Ponniyin Selvan and both were unrequited love, both were somebody else’s wife, I get killed in both.”

Vikram said that he actually Mani Ratnam to let them have a happy ending in one of the films, just for the fans. “I told Mani sir, ‘Please one film, let’s get together, at least for the fans’. I think she is a fantastic actor to work with. She is very committed, perfectionist and we are very good friends but Abhishek is like very, very close friend,” he said.

Aishwarya Rai has not appeared in any films since Ponniyin Selvan 2. She has also not announced any future projects. Vikram was recently seen in the Tamil film Thangalaan. The Hindi version of the film will release on September 6.

During the promotions of Ponniyin Selvan 2, Vikram spoke about their on-screen chemistry and said, “It is very interesting because in Raavan, we do not get to be with each other. Even in PS 1, I was just there in one scene, it was hardly just a glimpse of her and me together. And again in part two, I don’t know how many scenes are we together for. I think that the love and romance between the two (characters) is so strong that the audience wants them to meet. That is why they go back to Raavan. But again in Raavan, we do not get together and that is working in our favour I think.”
