Vicky Kaushal and Shah Rukh Khan in a still from Dunki.Vicky Kaushal, whose latest film Sam Bahadur is in theatres, will soon be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki. In Dunki, Vicky seems to have a supporting role and in his chat with Karan Johar on Koffee with Karan 8, the actor spoke about SRK’s passion for his work and his experience of shooting with the star for Dunki.
Vicky shared on the show that he had to shoot a scene with Shah Rukh but the Pathaan star had to leave for Delhi urgently, and so, he ended up shooting with the superstar’s body double. However, as soon as SRK finished his work in Delhi, he contacted Vicky and insisted that they shoot the said portion again. “He called me and told me that we would have to reshoot and he’d be there. I told him we had done it well, but he insisted that he would come back and shoot it,” Vicky shared.
Vicky Kaushal said that Shah Rukh Khan even apologised to him for missing the shoot. “He even said, ‘I am really sorry I missed that, I couldn’t be there to give just the cues. We’ll do that shot again. I am feeling terrible that I couldn’t be there.'” Vicky said that he was nervous if he would be able to pull off the same shot again. “I had to call him and convince him that Raju sir (Raj Kumar Hirani) is happy and it went okay and there is no need,” the Sam Bahadur actor added.
Vicky also praised SRK’s passion for his work and said, “That’s him. I met him and I realised how little I am doing at this age. He just gives his 100% in everything. He is just something else.”
Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role alongside Taapsee Pannu. The film’s trailer was released on Tuesday, less than a month before its release on December 22.
Dunki is SRK’s third release of the year after Pathaan and Jawan. His last two releases have collectively grossed over Rs 2000 crore worldwide and it is yet to be seen if he will deliver a hat-trick with Dunki.
