Vedaa box office collection day 2: John Abraham and Sharvari’s Vedaa debuted in cinemas on Independence Day and even though it performed well on the opening day, the film witnessed a sharp dip in its collections on the second day. This dip could be attributed to Friday being a working day. As per trade tracker Sacnilk, Vedaa made Rs 1.6 crore on Friday after opening at Rs 6.3 crore on Thursday, taking its nett collection to Rs 7.9 crore.

Vedaa could only manage an occupancy of 11.87 percent on Friday. In Mumbai, where there were 418 shows, the occupancy observed was 13.50 percent. In Delhi and NCR, with 466 shows, the occupancy stood at 9.75 percent. The film is clashing against Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2, and Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein. Stree 2 has been dominating the box office as its collections are set to cross teh Rs 100 crore mark today. Khel Khel Mein has managed to make only Rs 6.95 crore in the first two days.

2018’s Satyameva Jayate remains John’s biggest solo opener as it made Rs 19.5 crore on day one. His 2022 film, Ek Villain returns opened at Rs 7.05 crore, which was more than Vedaa’s opening day numbers. In the first two days, the film had made Rs 14.52 crore. His last few releases like Attack, Satyameva Jayate 2 and Mumbai Saga all opened to less than Rs 5 crore.

It is yet to be seen if Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein can survive the tsunami of Stree 2 which has taken the box office by a storm. The number of screens allotted to both these films are far lesser than the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao film.

Along with John Abraham, Vedaa also stars Sharvari, Tamannah Bhatia, Abhishek Banerjee and Ashish Vidyarthi.
