Twinkle Khanna offered sister Rinke sanctuary in her basement during Operation Sindoor: ‘She lives within 1km radius of PM Modi’

Twinkle Khanna, the wife of actor Akshay Kumar, wrote a new blog post reflecting on the recent tensions between India and Pakistan. She wrote that she was fully prepared to hunker down with her family in the basement of their home, and that she invited her sister Rinke to come stay with them. Rinke refused the offer, saying that she lives within a 1 km radius of PM Narendra Modi. Twinkle told her that she has enough food for two months, but Rinke insisted that her Delhi home would be safer.

In her vlog for The Times of India, Twinkle wrote that Rinke called her up at 8 am, and that the first thing they did was to make up after a recent quarrel. Twinkle said that she offered Rinke sanctuary in the basement of her Mumbai home, because she felt that Delhi ‘could be on the hitlist’. She told Rinke that she had rations for two months, and that she also had a gizmo with which they could make their own paneer. “Just bring your kids and come quickly,” she told her, and Rinke asked, “To eat paneer?”

Twinkle replied, “No, to be safe from Pakistani missiles.” Rinke refused the offer, saying that living in Delhi within a 1 km radius of the PM would be much safer than hunkering down in the basement of Twinkle and Akshay’s home. Twinkle and Rinke are the daughters of the late superstar Rajesh Khanna, and his former wife, Dimple Kapadia. In the same blog post, Twinkle also wrote about an interaction that she had with her mother about the ‘fake paneer epidemic‘.

Twinkle began her career as an actor, but quickly gave that up after a string of flops that earned poor reviews. She refashioned herself into a writer, and has been publishing blog posts and books consistently since then. Akshay had earlier spoken about how he and Twinkle have very different personalities and worldviews, and how neither interferes in the other’s life. He said that he only offers his opinion about her articles when he asked to do so. “I don’t interfere with her life, she doesn’t interfere with mine,” he had told ANI.
