Salman Khan is looking forward to the third installment of the Tiger franchise, Tiger 3, and a recent teaser video of the film has been warmly accepted by his fans. The film is being directed by Fan director Maneesh Sharma and in a recent interview, the director said that Tiger is "perhaps the most iconic character" to come from Bollywood in the last decade. Maneesh, in a chat with ETimes, said that the recent video, which hinted towards the plot of the film was written and conceptualised by YRF head Aditya Chopra, including the dialogue "Jab tak Tiger mara nahi, tab tak Tiger haara nahi." He shared that the dialogue is a "masterstroke" and added, "It's a total paisa vasool big screen dialogue that will create hysteria when Salman says it on screen." Maneesh said that he wanted to portray Tiger like how he has perceived him, in a larger than life manner, but also present a "deeper layer" to his journey. The new teaser of the film has Salman reprising the role of Avinash aka Tiger, who is now labeled as the "enemy number 1" of the country and is fighting for his "character certificate" from the country he has served for 20 years. The YRF Spy Universe first started with Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger, which released in 2012. Since then, Tiger Zinda Hai, War and Pathaan have been a part of the spy universe. YRF announced their spy universe before Pathaan's release in January. Here, Deepika Padukone from Pathaan, and Katrina Kaif from the Tiger movies play ISI agents. There has been some chatter about a Tiger vs Pathaan movie as well, where Salman and Shah Rukh will face off against each other. Tiger 3 also stars Emraan Hashmi, and will have a cameo by Shah Rukh Khan. The film releases on Diwali and will be Salman's second theatrical release this year after Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan which was a disappointment for his fans.
