The Archies, which marks the big debut of star kids Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda along with Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, Dot and Yuvraj Menda, launched its first song Sunoh on Thursday. The music video introduces the world of Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies and her interpretation of Riverdale. The characters are based on Archies comics and have retained the same name as the comics. Even the visuals of Zoya’s Riverdale seem like this is a page from the comic books.

Sunoh is an introduction song for the characters as it shows them going about their daily lives and all of it looks pretty idyllic. Composed by Ankur Tewari and The Islanders, the lyrics here are penned by Javed Akhtar and Dot. Singer Tejas has given his vocals for the song.

Suhana Khan, who is the daughter of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, had previously spoken about her first day on the set of The Archies and shared with India Today, “From the number of people on set to the number of lights on set and the hair and the make up and the chaos, I feel like in the middle of it, I just felt extremely significant.” She added that everyone on the set was doing everything to “facilitate Zoya’s vision and knowing that on my first day and realising that, I felt extremely nervous and at the same time, incredibly responsible.”

Zoya Akhtar, in an earlier conversation with Vogue, said that she had a “complete boot camp” for all the newcomers. “The challenge was that they were completely raw. So, you have to do a complete boot camp. You have to prep them for various reasons. One is, you want your characters to be who you want them to be, you want to co-create something with the actor. You want them to be comfortable when they hit the scene because it’s overwhelming to have 200 people on a set, you have a camera in your face and you have to perform when everyone keeps quiet and you have to perform when the word action is said, it’s daunting,” she said.

The Archies is set to premiere on Netflix on December 7.
