Tere Ishk Mein teaser: Dhanush, Aanand L Rai dial up the Raanjhanaa rage; Kriti Sanon drinks her miseries away in twisted love story. Watch
Tere Ishk Mein teaser: Raanjhanaa duo Aanand L Rai and Dhanush reunite for another intense, raging love story, with Kriti Sanon as the latter's romantic interest.

Dhanush and director Aanand L Rai are reuniting four years after their last collaboration, Atrangi Re (2021), and 12 years after their hit romantic drama Raanjhanaa. Their new film, Tere Ishk Mein, is also in the similar vein as Raanjhanaa, revolving around the intense, raging love of the protagonist, played by Dhanush. His romantic interest this time is played by Kriti Sanon.
The teaser begins with the haldi ceremony of Kriti Sanon’s character, who looks like she’s seen a ghost when she witnesses a bruised Dhanush enter and walk up to her. He tells her that he had gone to the Ganga to spread the ashes of his departed father, so brought along some gangajal with him. He then asks her to wash her sins away first before entering a new, married life before pouring the gangajal on her.
We then go back to their early days of romance, which are full of passion, obsession and even borderline violence. Dhanush runs and whips a miscreant; Kriti drinks and smokes her miseries away; and the two exchange devious smiles as if hinting at all the horrible things they do to each other in love.
The teaser ends with Dhanush wishing upon Kriti and praying to Lord Shankar (the God of destruction) that she gives birth to a boy. He says that only then, his former love interest would realize what men go through after their hearts are broken. What transpires between the two and where the story goes from there are yet to be seen.
Raanjhanaa had gotten a lot of flak back in 2013 for glorifying stalking. Dhanush’s character Kundan chases and doesn’t let go of his love interest, Sonam Kapoor’s Zoya, right since their school days all the way till he even sacrifices himself for her as part of a political conspiracy. With Tere Ishk Mein, both Dhanush and Rai seems to have dialled up on that rage of unrequited love.
Not just the director and the lead actor, Tere Ishk Mein also repeats two crucial crew members from Raanjhanaa — screenwriter Himanshu Sharma and music composer AR Rahman. Sharma has written all of Rai’s directorials, including the blockbuster Tanu Weds Manu franchise, Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Zero (2018), Atrangi Re, and Akshay Kumar-starrer Raksha Bandhan (2022).
Rahman has composed the music of Rai’s Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re, giving us memorable songs like “Raanjhanaa,” “Tum Tak,” “Banarasiya,” “Piya Milenge,” “Nazar Laaye,” “Tu Mun Shudi,” “Aise Na Dekho,” “Rait Zara Si,” “Chaka Chak,” and “Tere Rang.” Irshaad Kamil has penned the lyrics, reuniting with Rahman after memorable albums like Rockstar (2011) and Highway (2015).
