After an under-whelming start at the box office, Kangana Ranaut’s aerial actioner Tejas has failed to pick-up pace. According to industry tracker Sachnilk, the film earned a mere Rs 1.25 crore on its first Saturday, resulting in a total domestic collection of Rs 2.50 crore.

Tejas made its big-screen debut on Friday, October 27, with an opening of just Rs 1.25 crore. Unfortunately, the film didn’t show any signs of improvement on Saturday. Tejas faced strong competition from Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail, which experienced a 100 per cent increase in collections. Like Tejas, 12th Fail had a slow start at the box office, earning Rs 1.10 crore on Friday. However, it managed to surpass Tejas’ collection on Saturday by earning Rs 2.20 crore.

Despite having a more substantial budget and promotional efforts, Tejas couldn’t live up to its anticipated success. This presents a significant setback for Kangana Ranaut and RSVP Movies, the producers of Tejas as the film was made with a budget of Rs. 60 crore, excluding print and publicity expenses.

This underwhelming performance is undoubtedly disappointing for Kangana, who has been grappling with a series of box office flops. Her last five films, including Dhaakad (2022), Thalaivi (2021), Panga (2020), and Judgementall Hai Kya (2019), failed to gain traction with audiences and were declared box office flops.

Tejas stars Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. It is written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. In addition to Kangana, the film features a ensemble cast, including Anshul Chauhan, Varun Mitra, Ashish Vidyarthi, Vishak Nair, Kashyap Shangari, Sunit Tandon, Rio Kapadia, Mohan Agashe, and Mushtaq Kak.
