Tanishaa Mukerji says breakup with Uday Chopra broke her heart, ending relationship with Armaan Kohli was easier: ‘It wasn’t that big’
Tanishaa Mukerji reflected on her breakup with Armaan Kohli but admitted that her split with actor Uday Chopra was more painful.

Bollywood actor and daughter of veteran star Tanuja, Tanishaa Mukerji, recently opened up about her much-publicised relationships. She reflected on her breakup with Armaan Kohli, with whom her romance began during their stint on the reality show Bigg Boss 7. She also spoke about facing heartbreak when she parted ways with actor Uday Chopra.
In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Tanishaa was asked about her split with Armaan Kohli. She said, “Voh itna heartbreak nahi tha (It wasn’t that big heartbreak). Maybe public felt that it was a heartbreak because the media talked about it like that but personally it wasn’t a heartbreak.”
Tanishaa and Armaan’s romance inside the Bigg Boss house had created a lot of buzz, and the couple even dated for a few months after the show ended. However, after nearly a year of dating, they eventually parted ways.
Tanishaa’s other much-discussed relationship was with her Neal ’n’ Nikki co-star Uday Chopra. She admitted that their breakup was harder for her to deal with since they had been good friends before they started dating. She said, “I was more heartbroken jab mera Uday (Uday Chopra) ke sath breakup hua. Because we were friends. We were very close and we have known each other for a very long time.”
Despite facing multiple heartbreaks, Tanishaa revealed that she prefers to stay positive. She said, “I am the kind of person who always looks at the bright side of things. I just can’t help it. I believe that whatever happens, happens for the good.” She added, “This is part of life then you get over it and move on.”
Speaking further, she said, “I don’t think I got bitter but I got conscious because it’s not good because you aren’t that open in relationships like you were in your 1st or 2nd relationship.”
When asked about her coping mechanism, Tanishaa shared, “Humare sabke pass negative tendencies hai (We all have negative tendencies).” She explained that it depends on the situation. Tanishaa added, “If it’s a work thing I am upset about, I definitely need to talk to my mum about it. Usually, it’s just my mum.”
On the work front, Tanishaa was last seen in the 2024 film Luv You Shankar. She also participated in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 in 2023.
