Taapsee Pannu and Imtiaz Ali take the stage at Expresso

This is be the second event of Expresso, which kickstarted with much fanfare in April with Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi as the first guests.

The duo is finally collaborating, but not for a film. Actor Taapsee Pannu and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali are coming together as guests at Expresso, a specially curated six-part series from The Indian Express. Taapsee and Imtiaz will be in conversation at the event, set to take place at Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad on July 5.

This will be the second event of Expresso, which kickstarted with much fanfare in April with Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi as the first guests. The two were in the romantic drama Do Aur Do Pyaar.

Expresso is a live event of 60-90 minutes, which also features an open audience Q&A. At the Expresso event, which is being live streamed on Indian Express’ YouTube page, Taapsee Pannu and Imtiaz Ali talk about their glorious careers, their art, heart, rise and fall and their continued success since the time they made their debuts in the late 2000s.

The three key stakeholders, The Indian Express group, HSBC and Taj Hotels have come together to build a unique platform – ‘Expresso’ with an aim to create content that is eclectic, intimate, intelligent and fun with personalities from sphere of art, culture and entertainment.

The series of moderated informal and candid conversations will feature an interesting mix of audience, which includes celebrated dignitaries as well as influencers.

Taapsee Pannu has had a packed slate of films, featuring in seven movies just in the last two years. Her biggest release was the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki, which opened in December 2023. She now has the Akshay Kumar starrer Khel Khel Mein and the sequel of her Netflix thriller Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba.

Imtiaz Ali, meanwhile, had a resounding comeback with his Diljit Dosanjh starrer Amar Singh Chamkila. The Netflix film garnered tremendous acclaim and re-established Imtiaz as an important filmmaking voice of the generation, with movies like Tamasha, Rockstar, Jab We Met and Love Aaj Kal. He is yet to announce his next venture.
