Supriya Pathak says Shahid Kapoor was always part of her and Pankaj Kapur’s life: ‘He was always there’

She also spoke about managing a work-life balance after marriage. Supriya admitted that she willingly quit the film industry after becoming a mother. She said, “I took a definite break because I wanted to have kids and I wanted to be with them. My elder daughter is Sanah and my younger one is my son Ruhaan, and of course Shahid was always there but he was a bigger boy by then. Till Sanah was about 12 I didn’t work.”

However, staying out of work made Supriya anxious, but her husband quickly came to her support. “But since I am an actor, I became a pain for my husband because he was working and I was not. So, I was like you are still getting work and I am still staying at home. Though it was my decision. Pankaj always tells me, ‘Tum hamesha roti rahi hu (You always cry).'”

Supriya then shared that for her sake, Pankaj started a production company and wrote, directed, and produced projects, making her the executive producer — a job she initially knew nothing about but learned over time. She also revealed that they ran this company together for 5–6 years.
