Bobby Deol has always spoken openly about the deep love and admiration he holds for his elder brother, Sunny Deol. He often refers to Sunny not just as a brother, but as a second father figure in his life. In a recent conversation with Radio Nasha Official, Bobby opened up about a difficult moment from the early days of his career, during the shoot of his debut film Barsaat, when he suffered a serious leg injury. He recalled that it was Sunny who quite literally carried him through the crisis. “I still remember, my leg broke in England during the shoot. I was riding a horse, bumped into another horse, lost balance, falling hard to the ground. I saw that one of my legs was completely twisted. I tried to stand but collapsed again. Bhaiya (Sunny) was there, he lifted me onto his shoulders and carried me. All my strength came from him. Just knowing he was there made me feel like nothing bad could happen,” he shared. Bobby went on to explain how Sunny rushed him to a small local hospital that night, and when things got worse, he arranged for an emergency airlift to London. “He took me to the nearest hospital, but later I found out that the doctors there had said, ‘We can't save his leg.’ That’s when Bhaiya got me airlifted to London overnight. I had surgery there. He’s always been there for me.” Reflecting on the injury and its long-term impact, Bobby added: “It’s been more than 30 years now. I still have a rod and screws in my leg, and while there’s some discomfort and pain, I’ve gotten used to it. But I can walk, run, dance, fight, jump, do action, what more does one need?” Also Read | Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone exchange a warm hug as they head to Delhi, fans wonder if this is a hint for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2. Watch This isn’t the first time Bobby has spoken about his brother’s strength and support. On an episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show last year, Bobby praised Sunny’s physical and emotional strength. “If there’s someone in real life who’s truly like Superman, it’s Bhaiya. I’ve never seen anyone stronger. Even after undergoing multiple back surgeries, when he’s required to lift someone on set, he does it effortlessly, as if they weigh nothing.” Bobby Deol was recently seen in The Ba***ds of Bollywood on Netflix. Up next, he will star in Anurag Kashyap’s Bandar, and Alpha, the next installment in YRF’s spy universe, alongside Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Alpha is slated for a Christmas 2025 release.
