Sunita Ahuja and Govinda’s marital troubles recently came to light, but just a day after the speculation began, their lawyer clarified that they had ironed out their differences for now. He also shared that Sunita had filed for divorce six months ago, but they have figured out a way to be together. A few months ago, Sunita had implied in an interview that she and Govinda were not living together anymore. But, soon afterwards, Sunita said that the other house was just for the purpose of Govinda’s political work, and they have not separated. The video is being widely circulated on social media now.

In the video, which was presumably recorded towards the end of January, Sunita can be heard clarifying her “alag alag rehte hain (we live separately)” statement. “Alag alag rehte hain matlab jan unhone politics join kia tha tab meri beti jawan ho rahi thi toh saare karyakarta ghar pe aate the. Toh ab jawan beti hai, hum hain, hum shorts pehen ke ghar pe ghoomte hain toh isliye humne samne office lia tha. (We live separately, what that means is that when he joined politics, my daughter was growing up and all the party workers would come home. There is a daughter, and me, and we would walk around in shorts all day long so that’s why we took an office right across our apartment).”

Towards the end of the video, Sunita can be heard saying, “Mereko aur Govinda ko iss duniya mein agar koi alag kar de, kisi ka maayi ka laal, toh saamne aa jaye (There is no one in the world who can dare to separate me and Govinda).”

Govinda joined politics in 2004, but quit in 2008 as his absence from parliament was frequently questioned. In 2024, he joined the Shiv Sena.

Previously, in a chat with Hindi Rush in the first week of January, Sunita said that they two houses and implied that she lives with her kids in their apartment, whereas Govinda lives in the bungalow. “We have two houses, we have a bungalow opposite our apartment. I have my temple and my kids in the flat. We live in the flat whereas he gets late after his meetings. He loves talking so he’ll gather 10 people and sit chatting with them. Whereas me, my son and my daughter live together, but we hardly talk because I feel if you end up wasting your energy by talking too much,” she said.
