Stree 2 box office collection day 8: The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-starrer Stree 2 has been running successfully in theatres for over a week. On its eighth day of release, director Amar Kaushik’s film made Rs 16 crore, as per early estimates by trade tracker Sacnilk, taking the film’s nett domestic collection to Rs 290.85 crore. Stree 2 has emerged as the biggest Hindi hit of the year, and also the most successful film of Rajkummar and Shraddha’s careers.

On the eighth day, the film saw an overall Hindi occupancy of 27.62 percent. In Mumbai, where the film has over 1180 shows, the occupancy observed was over 28.75 percent, and in Delhi-NCR region, the film had over 1330 shows with over 32 percent occupancy. The collections of the film were promising for a weekday, and it appears that they will further increase on the upcoming weekend.

On Thursday, Maddock Films announced that the film had grossed Rs 401 crore worldwide with Rs 289.6 crore in nett domestic collections.

Stree 2 is about to cross the lifetime Hindi nett collection of Kalki 2898 AD, which made Rs 293 crore at the time of its release. Kalki 2898 AD’s Hindi version was seen as the biggest Hindi hit of the year. The second spot was previously held by Fighter, which made Rs 200 crore; the film has now slipped to the third spot.

Stree 2 has already crossed the lifetime collection of Tiger 3, which made Rs 285.52 crore nett at the box office, and is on the verge of crossing the lifetime worldwide collection of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki, which made Rs 454 crore. Stree 2 was released alongside Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa, and is racing miles ahead of them in terms of its box office collections. Both these films have not even crossed the Rs 20 crore nett mark in India.

Before this, Shraddha’s biggest hit was Nitesh Tiwari’s 2019 film Chhichhore, which made over Rs 150 crore at the box office and for Rajkummar Rao, his biggest hit was the first Stree, which made Rs 129 crore.

Stree 2 also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Bannerjee.
