Sonu Nigam suffers from ‘excruciating’ pain during live show, shares video: ‘One of the most difficult days of my life’

In the video, Sonu Nigam said, “One of the most difficult days of my life but very fulfilling. I was thinking gaate gaate jhatka dete hai na (While singing we dance), that can also trigger the spasm. But I managed somehow. I never want to do less or give less when people expect so much from me. Ho gaya acha (It went well) I’m glad. This shaped up fine.”

He added, “But excruciating, excruciating pain. Laga tha jaese ek needle mere spine mein laga rakhi hai. Itna sa yaha waha ho aur needle spine mein ghus jayegi (I felt as if a needle was pricking my spine. I would move a little and the needle would enter my spine). It was like that. Really bad.”

Along with the clip, the singer wrote, “Sarasvati ji did hold my hand last night.”

The video went viral on social media. Several fans have appreciated Sonu’s dedication and effort, while also expressing concerns about his condition and wishing him a quick recovery.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Mashable India recently, Sonu Nigam spoke about preparing before singing on stage. He said, “I generally go to the gym before singing on stage aur recordings ke liye bhi. Uske liye toh main almost 5-6 days toh gym jaata hi hun. Kyuki mujhe lagta hai mere lungs khul jaate hain usse… toh woh main karta hun phir main microphone pe jab jaata hun tab main… I remember my gurus. I pray to them… matlab I evoke the God around me and when I sing a song, I sing as if this is the last song I’m singing.”
