Sobhita Dhulipala looks unrecognisable in a video from Miss India pageant, netizens ask ‘Is it really her?’

While many lauded the actress’ wit, others couldn’t help but comment on how Sobitha Dhulipala looks unrecognisable in the video. A Reddit user wrote, “Is it really her? I watched the entire video waiting for Sobhita’s glimpse, didn’t even realise the video ended and started playing again.”

Other comments read, “Looks like a totally different person.” Lauding the actress’ response, a user commented, “That was a damn good answer. Didn’t even notice the face.”

In an interview with PTI, Sobhita recalled competing in the pageant. She said, “My friend was interning at the Miss India office and asked me to go for an audition. I just wanted to clear one basic round to show it to my friends. ‘I’m in this mind space and I can do this, losers’. I cleared the first round and then I wanted to do more.”

She added, “For the first time in my life, I was getting attention. I was very awkward with myself, I was so lame… But Miss India did more damage to my self-esteem. It took me more away from me because you’re reduced to someone who’s entertaining, who is pleasing.”

Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya got engaged on Thursday at Nagarjuna’s residence in Hyderabad. The actors were rumoured to be dating for quite some time but they never responded to the speculation.

The actress, recently made her Hollywood debut with the film The Monkey Man–which has not got a clearance certificate from CBFC to release in India. Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya, who was previously married to Samantha, is busy with the shoot of Thandel.
