Sony TV on Sunday released a promo of Indian Idol’s special episode, which will celebrate 100 years of singer Mukesh. In the clip, Mukesh’s son and veteran singer Nitin Mukesh and singer Shreya Ghoshal are seen coming together on stage to celebrate the legacy of the legendary singer.

Nitin Mukesh begins by singing the song “Dil Ki Nazar Se” from Anari starring Raj Kapoor and Nutan. The song was originally sung by Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar.

While Nitin Mukesh begins the song, Shreya Ghoshal soon joins him and the duo then sing the classic together. When the song ends, the clip shows judge Kumar Sanu giving them a standing ovation along with other contestants on the show. Sherya is seen touching Nitin Mukesh’s feet for blessings.

Mukesh, considered one of the most iconic singers of India, was born on July 22, 1923 and passed away aged 53. Mukesh was the playback voice of actors Raj Kapoor, Manoj Kumar, Feroz Khan, Sunil Dutt and Dilip Kumar.

Indian Idol, now in its 14th season, sees Vishal Dadlani, Kumar Sanu and Shreya Ghoshal as judges. The show began airing from October this year.
