The team of Indian Police Force - Shilpa Shetty, Isha Talwar, Rohit Shetty, Vivek Oberoi and Sidharth Malhotra - launched their web series' trailer in Mumbai on Friday. Here, while speaking to the media, Shilpa was asked how she feels being the first female cop in Rohit Shetty's cop universe. Responding to the journalist's question, Shilpa said that she and Rohit were discussing a collaboration for a very long time, and Indian Police Force was worth the wait. On being called the first female cop in Rohit Shetty's cop universe, Shilpa Shetty had a hilarious response. She said, “What? Say that again,” followed by laughter. To which Rohit said, “Dusri (Deepika Padukone) ka birthday hai na? Happy birthday Deepika!” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Varinder Chawla (@varindertchawla) Talking about her character Tara Shetty, Shilpa said, “Why wouldn't one accept a role like this? You know I describe Tara Shetty as a ‘shero’. There are heroes and there are heroines. This one's a shero. She is gritty, she's badass, she's compassionate and she's selfless in her line of work. It's all the qualities of someone who's put on a pedestal. And she's unmarried (chuckles).. and she's a Shetty. So I just think it all just came together for me.” “When they came to narrate the part to me, the minute they said the character is called Tara Shetty, I was like ok. It was a checklist. I always wanted to work with Rohit, not because of the Shetty connection but because of the grasp he has on this milieu. For me to be able to play a cop in his cop universe is nothing but a compliment. We were supposed to work a long long time back, but I am happy that it started off with this part," the actor added. Shilpa Shetty further addressed getting injured on the sets of the show in Telangana in August 2023. “I have done action before, but this was my first major fall. I actually made my OTT debut with Amazon Prime Video years ago in non-fiction when they launched. I just feel so elated that Rohit thought of me to play Tara Shetty. It was written so beautifully, so we've literally given an arm and a leg (talking about her fracture)." Shilpa also revealed that all the actors in the show have done their own action and didn't use stunt doubles. “We've done action before, but this is the first time we've not used a single stunt double. It was Rohit's conviction that he wanted (it that way). We were playing real-life heroes, so he wanted to keep it as real as possible. So, a big round of applause for his conviction. Actually, he pushed us and prepped us to be ready to attempt something like that,” Shilpa concluded. Indian Express Entertainment is now on WhatsApp Channels.
