Actor Shanthi Priya, who recently made her acting comeback with Suniel Shetty’s web debut series Dharavi Bank, has been sharing anecdotes from her film career which first started in the 1990s. The actor had recently opened up about Akshay Kumar ghosting her when she got in touch with him to ask for work, and now, she has revealed that she was replaced from Sunny Deol‘s 1993 film Veerata after she was done shooting for it. She said that after shooting the whole film, she appeared only in one song.

In an interview with YouTube channel Bollywood Thikana, Shanthi Priya opened up about her experience working with Sunny Deol in Veerata. She said, “It was a very bad movie. I was not in it. I’m there only in one song. It doesn’t come in my life because it is just one song because I was replaced. I am only in the song, nowhere in the film. I just left because there was favouritism. I just left. I don’t even know when the film was released but it is mentioned in the list (of films I have done).”

Veerata starred Sunny Deol, Jaya Prada and Prosenjeet Chatterjee. On this, Shanthi Priya said, “Sunny Deol was there Jaya Pradha was there, Bengali actor Prosenjeet Chatterjee was there and I was supposed to be opposite him. But then, certain scenes were changed and the importance was going somewhere else. The story was different from what was narrated to me. What I was told about my character, that was not there, so I said bye.”

When asked if she felt bad, she said, “No, not at all. If it was a beautiful character then it would, but this was ok.” On being asked which is one Bollywood film she wished she was a part of, Shanthi said, “I would have loved to do Chandni (1989). I am a big fan of Sridevi ji, Vyjayanthimala… Amrapali (1966), I’d like to do that too. I want my work to speak for myself. I know my audience has accepted me in my comeback, in Dharavi Bank, and that is going to give me my fruits. It is never too late to rise like a phoenix.”
