Many celebrities have spoken about Shah Rukh Khan’s remarkable ability to make everyone around him feel special. In a recent interaction, Rushad Rana, a prominent TV actor known for small roles in Shah Rukh-starrers like Mohabbatein, Veer Zaara, and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, shared his experience working with the superstar, revealing how Shah Rukh made him feel truly valued.

In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Rushad recalled his first project with Shah Rukh, Mohabbatein (2000), and how they later reunited on the set of Veer Zaara (2004). Despite Rushad’s minor role in Mohabbatein, Shah Rukh remembered him from the film and even gave him a cute nickname. “When I met him for Veer-Zaara, unko mei yaad tha Mohabbatein se. Mein Mohabbatein ke wo 3 main ladko mei se bhi nahi tha phir bhi he remembered me. (He remembered me from Mohabbatein. I wasn’t even one of the three main guys in Mohabbatein, yet he still recognized me),” Rushad recalled.

He added, “Shah Rukh said, ‘Of course, I remember you. But mein tujhe Rushad nahi bulaunga. I will call you partner.’ (But I won’t call you Rushad; I’ll call you partner). So, throughout the shooting of Veer-Zaara, Shah Rukh used to call me partner. What a man!”

Not only Shah Rukh Khan, but also the legendary filmmaker and producer Yash Chopra was warm towards Rushad Rana. He recounted a touching gesture from Yash Chopra, which took place as the Mohabbatein shoot wrapped up. Rushad was about to embark on a European tour, his first, and Yash Chopra offered a thoughtful bit of help. Recalling the same, he said, “This was the first time I had travelled to Europe. A day before we were leaving Yash ji came and gave us bread jam saying, ‘Bacho ye le jao. Europe mein khana mehenga hai. Sandwiches bana lena when you feel hungry (Take this. The food is expensive in Europe. Make sandwiches when when you get hungry).”

Both Mohabbatein and Veer Zaara were bankrolled by Yash Raj Films. While Mohabbatein was directed Aditya Chopra, Veer Zaara was helmed by Yash Chopra.
