Shah Rukh Khan’s friend Viveck Vaswani on actor’s silence during Aryan Khan’s arrest: ‘He didn’t want to escalate the issue, it’s called grace and dignity’
Actor and producer Viveck Vaswani, who happens to be among superstar Shah Rukh Khan's oldest friend in the industry, revealed recently on why the actor did not make any statements during and post son Aryan Khan's arrest in 2021.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been praised for many things apart from his acting skills — his innate charm and charisma, his kindness, the respect he shows women and his grace during tough times. Shah Rukh’s grace that he displayed when his eldest son Aryan Khan was accused of being involved in a drug case was something which impressed people.
People had perhaps presumed that the actor, who has often called himself an overprotective father, would jump to his child’s rescue in an overt fashion. But it took people by surprise when he chose to stay behind the scenes and helped Aryan get out of jail. SRK stayed away from the media, and so did his wife Gauri, and their daughter Suhana Khan. And even post Aryan’s bail after proving his innocence, everyone from the Khan family kept their silence.
Among Shah Rukh’s oldest friend from the industry, actor and producer Viveck Vaswani, said that Shah Rukh’s behaviour is something which we should all try to replicate. While speaking with Connect FM Canada, the actor said, “I think he did not want to escalate it (the issue), he didn’t open his mouth, neither did Aryan, Gauri or Suhana, it is called grace and dignity.”
Post Aryan’s bail, when Shah Rukh took a special effort to avoid media, and entered parties from side entrances where there were no cameras. Even during the release of Pathaan, SRK didn’t promote his film through media, choosing to take the route of interacting with his fanclubs and via Twitter. He spoke about this after Pathaan became a huge success. “This is an experience that’s yet to sink in. Maybe we will be more grateful to God. There were times when we had to make calls to people to make them release the film with ease and they did that. I want my films to release with love.”
After Pathaan’s record-breaking success, Shah Rukh Khan is now looking forward to the release of his two other films — Atlee’s Jawan and Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki.
