Sara Ali Khan on her break up with Kartik Aaryan: ‘These things do affect you’

Koffee with Karan Season 8 has returned with a new season, and in the latest episode, Ananya Panday and Sara Ali Khan took the couch. During the show, host Karan Johar broached the topic of dating rumors surrounding Ananya and Aditya Roy Kapur, and Ananya subtly confirmed their relationship. Karan also praised Sara for her ability to maintain a friendly relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Kartik Aaryan. Karan even asked both the actors if it was easy for them to be comfortable with their ex-boyfriends. 

Karan also suggested on the show that both Sara and Ananya dated the same guy, Kartik Aaryan. Replying to Karan’s question about being comfortable with her exes, Sara said, “I don’t want to say, ‘Yeah it’s all easy,’ because then it comes across as a little more frivolous than it is. It isn’t always easy. When you’re involved with anybody, whether they are your friends, whether it’s professionally or romantically, especially if I get involved, I get invested. So it’s not like, ‘Oh yeah, It doesn’t really matter.’ These things do affect you.”

She added, “Ultimately you have to rise beyond that. And this is something I realised, there are actually no permanent predicaments in this business. There is no point in making permanent best friendships, pinky promises. I won’t talk to the person. All these ‘nevers’ don’t really work.”

It was reported that Sara and Kartik began dating while filming their movie Love Aaj Kal, which was released in 2020. Although they never officially confirmed their relationship, they were often seen together and their adorable pictures were a hit among their fans. 

On the work front, Sara Ali Khan was last seen in Zara Hatke Zara Bachke opposite Vicky Kaushal.
