Sanjay Mishra says being a topper at National School of Drama does not help in making it in the movies: ‘It was by chance’

Sanjay Mishra said that he was never a fan of learning formally so when he got his admission in NSD, he wasn’t very keen on attending it. “I was crying when I went to drama school. My parents said that you must go since you have got the admission, that’s why I went,” he recalled and added, “My entire focus was to find a loophole so I don’t have to be a part of the education system.”

Even after finishing his education at NSD, Sanjay did many jobs that weren’t directly related to acting. The actor said that he was a portfolio photographer at one point so he could earn his living. He shared that he shot the initial portfolios of other actors like Manoj Pahwa and Piyush Mishra, who were also starting out at that point.

The actor shared that when he shot the portfolio of Manoj, the actor didn’t have much money to pay him so he paid him by giving him a fridge. He shared that he later gave that fridge to Saurabh Shukla.
