Salman Khan recalls being kicked out of school, says father Salim Khan wasn’t able to pay fees: ‘Mr Khan, it’s your fault’

Over the years, the camaraderie between Salman Khan and Aamir Khan has only deepened. Once co-stars in the cult comedy Andaaz Apna Apna, the two actors initially had a complicated relationship, often exchanging subtle jabs. But since then, their bond has grown strong, with frequent public appearances together, most recently on the talk show Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle Khanna. During the chat show, both actors revealed that they actually attended the same school for a time but didn’t know each other back then.

Salman shared, “Apparently we were in the same school together. But we don’t remember that because I was there till fourth grade, then I was thrown out of the school.” When asked why, Salman recalled a faint memory that he was running with a friend when the friend accidentally tripped over his leg and fell, chipping his teeth. The school authorities misunderstood the incident as deliberate, which caused trouble for Salman. Apart from this, Salman also recalled that he was a fee defaulter, and Aamir confirmed that his family had struggled to pay the fees as well.

He continued, “I was punished outside, and my father (Salim Khan) asked, ‘What has he done now?’ I was in grade four. My dad spoke to the teacher, and she said, ‘No Mr Khan, it is not his fault, it’s your fault.’ He asked, ‘What did I do?’ She said, ‘Your fees, which you were supposed to pay, are not on time, so we kept him outside.’ Then he said, ‘Then you should be making me stand there.’ After this, my father went to the principal, did whatever he could to pay the money, but two weeks later, this incident happened again and they took me out of school.”

Aamir nodded in agreement, adding, “Yes, I do remember my parents couldn’t pay fees on time either, and then they would announce our names in the assembly.” While fans eagerly await to see Salman and Aamir share the big screen once again, Aamir recently revealed that a sequel to Andaaz Apna Apna is in the works. If everything falls into place, fans may soon get to relive the magic of their iconic pairing.
