Even as filming for the new season of Bigg Boss is underway, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has taken time out to travel to Ladakh, where he has begun shooting for his next film, Battle of Galwan. The first images from the set have already surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), showing the actor in Leh, posing with soldiers.

In one widely circulated photo, Salman is seen smiling alongside a group of uniformed soldiers. Another touching image shows the actor standing with the family of a soldier, while the man holds a baby in his arms, his wife stands beside him and Salman.

Just two days ago, Salman Khan formally announced the shoot of the film on social media. The post featured Salman standing behind a clapperboard, with the title Battle of Galwan prominently displayed. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between India and China.

In an earlier interview with news agency PTI, Salman Khan described the film as physically demanding. “It is physically demanding. Every year, every month, every day it gets more and more difficult. I’ve to give more time now (for training). Earlier, I would do it (train) in one or two weeks; now I’m running, kicking, punching, and all that stuff. This film demands that,” he had said.

There are high expectations riding on Battle of Galwan, especially after a string of underwhelming performances from some of Salman’s recent big-ticket films. Most notably, YRF’s Tiger 3 and Sikandar, which released earlier this year, failed to impress at the box office. Meanwhile, there had been talks of Salman reuniting with Sooraj Barjatya for an action film. However, Barjatya recently revealed that the project has been shelved. The veteran filmmaker explained that he is now considering something more age-appropriate for the superstar and is exploring new ideas.
