While fans missed the much-anticipated reunion of Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar during the Bigg Boss 18 Grand Finale, they were treated to a nostalgic moment when Aamir Khan appeared on the show alongside his son Junaid Khan and his Loveyapa co-star Khushi Kapoor. During their interaction, Salman recalled a surprising past incident where Aamir vowed never to work with him again.
Aamir shared that years later, he stumbled upon an old video of Salman praising him for his performance in Andaz Apna Apna. “I had never seen that video before, and I watched it now after 30 years. He (Salman) praised me with so much love in the clip,” Aamir revealed. Touched by the discovery, Aamir said he felt emotional and even shared the old clip with Salman.
However, Salman recollected a contradictory memory tied to the same period. “I have seen that interview where he (Aamir) complained that I used to come late on set,” Salman said. He continued, “Aamir had said, ‘We never got along. Last day pe chhutkara, iske saath toh main life mein kabhi kaam nahi karunga. (Finally, it’s over. I’ll never work with him again).’”
Acknowledging the incident, Aamir admitted, “That was my feeling at the time, but now my feelings have changed. With time, I have grown to appreciate who Salman is. It just took me some time to understand.”
Salman then explained the root cause of their tiff, saying, “The thing was, Aamir was doing one film while I was juggling 15 films. Aamir would reach the set at 7 a.m., but I’d arrive later after wrapping up the shoot for another film.”
Aamir, however, interjected, expressing his disapproval of Salman’s hectic schedule during those days. “Don’t clap; you shouldn’t do that,” Aamir said, pointing to Salman’s rigorous work ethic at the time. Salman humorously replied, “He (Aamir) also worked like that, but he was among the first ones to stop doing so.”
