Actor Ronit Roy has had a rather unconventional journey in the entertainment industry. After his successful debut in Bollywood, Ronit’s career went downhill and he could not resurrect it until he landed some major parts on television with producer Ekta Kapoor. Ronit’s career trajectory completely changed after he appeared as Rishabh Bajaj in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. But back in the 1990s, when Ronit was struggling in his career, his brother Rohit Roy was enjoying his success on television with shows like Swabhimaan. In a recent chat, Ronit and Rohit spoke about those times and Rohit recalled that despite the hard times, Ronit never lost his self belief.

The conversation was shared by the YouTube channel, RiteBite Max Protein TV as Rohit recalled how he landed at Ronit’s house one day and asked him to look for work. In that moment, Ronit profoundly looked down from the window and pointed at the empty parking space and made a claim that actually came true. “I went to his house, back in the 1990s when I had a lot of work on television but he didn’t. He said ‘what’s up?’ I said ‘you don’t have any work, go meet some people. He went up to his window, looked down at the parking and said it’s empty right now but in one year, there will be a Mercedes parked there,” Rohit recalled his brother saying.

Rohit said that he was very “angry” at his brother and called their mother about the same. “I got really angry and irritated and I called my mom and I said what is up with him? He has no work, no money to feed himself, no money for rent, he is saying I will have a Mercedes in one year. And you will not believe but in the eleventh month there was a Mercedes parked there,” he recalled with a smile. Rohit said that his brother never lost his self belief and indeed made it back on top.

Ronit also recollected another incident that happened almost a decade after this and said that his mother wanted him to attend Filmfare Awards but he explained it to her that it is meant only for the film people. He said that he decided that he will be one of the winners at Filmfare in the next couple of years and it came true when he won his first Filmfare Award for his work in Udaan.
