‘Ve Kamleya’ is the third song of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani after ‘Tum Kya Mile’ and ‘What Jhumka’. The film marks Karan Johar’s return to the director’s chair after 2016’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. This is also the 25th year for the director in the movies as he made his debut with 1998’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

In an earlier chat during an Instagram live, Karan spoke about the real-life references that inspired him in the making of the Alia-Ranveer film. “Rocky is definitely inspired by somebody who I can’t reveal right now. Rani is like many people I have met. In fact, a member of the media that I knew very well and dressed a lot like the way Rani does,” he said.

In an earlier post on Instagram, Karan had hinted that the idea of a ‘switch’ was inspired by a real-life story shared by his late father Yash Johar. A part of his Instagram caption read, “…the germ of #rockyaurranikipremkahani came to me from a real life family anecdote (something my father once told me about) and then my soldiers helped me create everything I wanted to with my 7th feature.”

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which is scheduled to release on July 28, stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
