Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal welcomed their first child, daughter Zuneyra Ida Fazal, on July 16, 2024. On her first birthday, the grateful mom shared a post and expressed her feelings. Richa took to her Instagram to share a reel that showcased many beautiful moments of the family with their little baby.

Richa reflected on her journey into motherhood and mentioned how this has transformed her, but many people took umbrage at her using the term ‘natural birth’.

Sharing the reel, Richa wrote, “For bringing so much colour into all our lives! A year ago I gave birth to a healthy baby girl at Breach Candy Hospital. Labour lasted a few hours, delivery only about 20 minutes, natural birth! Life hasn’t been the same since, particularly me… I feel rearranged from the insides out… my brain, my heart, my body, my soul 🍀.”

Richa added, “Zuneyra was born a year ago and so was I. Reborn as a mom. An entirely new being, than what existed before. A life and child with the man of your dreams… if this isn’t a blessing I don’t know what is❤️🌻#Grateful #sane #happy.”

Many fans and well-wishers of Richa and Ali poured good wishes for the baby. Actor Kriti Kharbanda wrote, “Happy birthday baby girl! ❤️🧿❤️, ” while Divya Dutta added, “Happy bday Laddooo❤️❤️.”

A few other posts read, “Duaayein aur pyar Zuni ✨🧿❤️,” “Awwww my zuni. 💕,” “congratulations! Lots of love and strength to you mamma 😍,” and “How beautifully expressed, bahu❤️❤️Love you guys! I’m seeing how well you have blossomed into a beautiful and caring mom! You guys have been great parents. So proud of you. God bless❤️❤️❤️Big hug to my Zuni.”

But a user seemingly had a problem that Richa used the term ‘natural birth’ and she wrote, “Every birth is natural, thanks to Science nowadays they’re being assisted to help the Mom and the kid.” Richa responded to the post by saying, “If I said normal delivery, you’d have said the same thing.”

Another user pointed out, “Girl I love you and it’s called vaginal delivery. Like she pointed out, every women carries the child naturally in her for 9 months and delivers them naturally.” Reacting to this, the actor added, “@bohoheartt but what if I don’t wanna say vaginally delivery, it is my page and also my vagina and my baby. And feminism taught me to use words of my choosing. So.”

Anoter user also added, “Please the word normal meant everything to every mothers don’t say it like that because it hurts others who feel like they don’t have the mind and zeal to go through it so saying it like that normal it traumatizing and if you meant the other way around to say normal delivery then even the ones that are Caesarian is normal because over 50% of women are doing it.”

Richa Chadha in an earlier post about battling anxiety post becoming a mother. “As beautiful a thing motherhood is, every woman first must see a complete woman in her own self and then try to be a mother. If you are an unhappy woman, you’d be an unhappy mother. And to be a happy woman, you need to have a sense of purpose and accomplishment in your own life. I’ve always looked up to it like that,” wrote Richa.

She added, “I don’t think that I’ve changed much because I’m a mom, and even if I have, it has been for the better.”
