Actor couple Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, who have been married since 2020, took to social media on Friday to announce that they are expecting a baby. The couple shared a post that read ‘1+1=3’ and wrote in the caption, “A tiny heartbeat is the loudest sound in our world 🥰” They also shared a photo featuring the two of them, with a pregnant girl emoji.

The comments section of their post was soon flooded with congratulatory messages. Shweta Basu Prasad, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Gaur, Karishma Tanna, and Saiyami Kher, among others, congratulated the couple. Dia Mirza shared, “I love you three ❤❤❤”

Richa and Ali got married during the pandemic in 2020, but did not make a public announcement at the time. They later celebrated their union in 2022 with their friends and family. The couple comes from different faiths and registered their marriage under the Special Marriage Act. In an earlier chat with News18, Richa described their wedding as “peaceful.” “We got married under the Special Marriage Act, the family court is right around the corner. And it was super peaceful. And I don’t think it’s out of the ordinary. It happens in society, which is why there is a very big act for it. Of course, I feel like media really makes these kinds of things, it’s actually terrible and is very corrosive for society,” she said.

They first met on the sets of their film Fukrey. In an earlier chat with Cyrus Broacha, Ali said that he tried his best to impress Richa in those early days. “I remember we were reading for Fukrey and I don’t know why I just went and sat next to her and it was stupid like those stupid things you do. I wanted to be part of the conversation, and I’m like, ‘Oh, you want this dish? You want this?’ And the same dish is right here. It was unnecessary chivalry. Then we started talking a lot. We bonded on a lot of things actually.” he shared.

Richa and Ali will soon be seen in a documentary about their wedding, titled ‘RiAlity’. In a statement about their wedding documentary, Ali said, “RiAlity is a testament to the fact that love is not always perfect, but it is always enough . Love is profound, it is messy, and yet worth moving worlds for. RiAlity captures some of the essence of our journey, not just as actors but as two regular people in love.”
