Ranvir Shorey on sharing custody of son, says ex-wife Konkona Sensharma lives just 100 metres away: ‘Weren’t able to give him a loving home, but…’
Ranvir Shorey opened up about co-parenting son Haroon with ex-wife Konkona Sensharma, and said that they try to make it as seamless as possible for him.

Actor Ranvir Shorey addressed his current equation with ex-wife, actor Konkona Sensharma, and said that they remain ‘cordial’ with each other, and committed to co-parenting their son, Haroon. Ranvir and Konkona tied the knot in 2010 after dating for a couple of years; they split up in 2015 and were officially divorced in 2020.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Ranvir spoke about their custody situation, and said that Haroon divides time equally between them. One of the reasons why he decided to participate in the reality show Bigg Boss, he said, was because his son was going away on a holiday with Konkona. Denying that he ever described himself as a ‘great father but terrible husband’, Ranvir said explained how Haroon divides time between them. He said, “If we’re both in town, he spends one week at a time with each of us; if she’s travelling on work, then I stay with him, I’m travelling for work, she stays here.”
Asked how Haroon finds this arrangement, Ranvir said, “He’s managed quite well… We might not have been able to give him a single loving home, but we have managed to give him a single loving neighbourhood. She lives only 100 metres down, and there’s a park between nearby, so the transition is quite seamless for him. We’ve tried our best to not make it heavy on him, the moving… It seems like one seamless move from one house to the other.”
Ranvir said that his relationship with Konkona is ‘cordial, as a co-parent’. In the same interview, he also declined to comment on whether he regrets any of his past romantic relationships. Ranvir addressed the separation on Bigg Boss as well, and said that the only topic of discussion between them is their son. At a 2015 event, Ranvir told Indian Express, Ranvir had said, “There is no one to be held responsible for our separation. I would hold myself responsible for whatever has happened.”
