Every time Ranveer Singh comes on screen, he transforms into a live wire. Tapping into that energy, the actor stars in the ICC Men’s Cricket World 2023 anthem, which dropped on Wednesday. Music composer Pritam also makes an appearance in the video, along with a number of content creators, including Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife Dhanashree Verma.

Titled “Dil Jashn Bole”, the anthem is all about celebrating the charm of one-day cricket. It also takes fans on an epic journey through India on board the ‘One Day Express’, witnessing a never-seen-before celebration ahead of the biggest cricketing tournament. Ranveer Singh, dressed in a magenta suit with a hat, dances along the fast-paced number as he invites fans to enjoy the World Cup. The anthem also has a section where the Bollywood star is seen lip syncing a rather complicated rap.

“Dil Jashn Bole” has been sung by Pritam, Nakash Aziz, Sreerama Chandra, Amit Mishra, Jonita Gandhi, AKASA and Charan, while Pritam has composed it. Shloke Lal, Saaveri Verma have been credited for the lyrics and Charan has written and performed the rap.

Ranveer Singh, in a statement said how being a ‘die-hard cricket fan’, he feels honoured to be part of the anthem. “It’s a celebration of the sport we all love,” the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor said.

Pritam, on his part, added, “Cricket is India’s greatest passion and composing ‘Dil Jashn Bole’ for the biggest World Cup ever, has been a tremendous honour for me. This song is not just for 1.4 billion Indian fans but for the whole world to come to India and be a part of the biggest celebration ever.”

As per the team, the music video encapsulates the emotions of the global fan community, uniting nations and fans across different cultures. “The fan-centric anthem represents an epic celebration, designed to resonate with hearts and ignite spirits. The anthem embodies the World Cup combining the unique Indian passion for cricket with the national pride of all competing nations to create an unrivalled global sporting occasion,” the statement read.

The men’s ODI World Cup 2023 will kickstart from October 5 with 10 teams fighting for the title and trophy. The final match would be played on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad
