Following the widespread admiration for the first photos of their daughter Dua on Diwali, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have once again captured the attention of the audience, this time in a tourism campaign for Abu Dhabi. The advertisement presents the couple marking what appears to be their anniversary through a series of humorous sequences set across the city.

The clip begins with Ranveer asking if Deepika has been “stalking” him and joking about whether their outing is a romantic comedy or a spy thriller. Deepika responds with a sealed envelope, prompting Ranveer to declare it a “date,” before she teases, “What if I’m a vacationing double agent?” The sequence concludes with a dinner scene, during which Ranveer greets Deepika warmly, saying, “Hello, my lovely. You look ravishing.”

During the meal, Deepika surprises Ranveer with a coaster bearing the message “Happy anniversary.” The couple’s humorous banter persists, including a quip from Deepika comparing him to “Bond who forgot to shave.” Ranveer struggles to stay in character during the roleplay, admitting, “You can’t make me laugh, how am I supposed to stay in character? This roleplay stuff is too cheesy.” The ad ends with Deepika inquiring about the following day’s plans, to which Ranveer responds enigmatically, “Just wait and watch.”

This marks the second advertisement in a series promoting Abu Dhabi tourism featuring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. The first commercial drew significant online backlash after Deepika wore an abaya while the couple appeared in the forecourt of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, one of the world’s most visited religious landmarks.

The series of advertisements also marks Deepika and Ranveer’s first project together since becoming parents; they were last seen together in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again.

Deepika has largely remained in the news all through this year as she stepped away from two tentpole projects, Kalki 2898 AD sequel and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, citing an eight-hour workday requirement. Speaking to Brut India about the ensuing controversy, she said, “I am not the first one who has asked for something like this. In fact, there are a lot of actors, male actors, who have been working on an 8-hour shift for years and it’s never made headlines.”
