Actor Ranbir Kapoor recently spoke about his bond with God and his parents’ inclination towards religion, which helped strengthen his belief system. Ranbir also shared how he stopped asking things from God at a very young age.

Talking about how he grasped religious values as a child, Ranbir told Nikhil Kamath, “While I was growing up, my father was extremely pious. He used to do two pujas a day, celebrate Diwali with a prayer. We would bring a 5-day Ganpati home and one at RK studios for 10 days. We celebrated Navratri, so God was a very big thing growing up. It gave a lot of peace to my father. My mother was less religious, but she used to do it because it made him happy and we as kids saw them, so I have a good feeling about God.”

Ranbir also shared how he stopped asking God for things at a very young age. “I realized very early on that my manifestation power is very strong. If I ask something from God, I was getting it too easily. At a very young age, I stopped asking thinking I would save it for a rainy day. Since then every night I just thank god and go to sleep. Even when my mother is fighting and I don’t want to have a conflicted conversation or I want a film to succeed, I never ask God for that. So my relationship with God is all about gratitude. I feel very grateful for the place I am in,” he shared.

The actor added, “I have started believing a lot in the Sanatan Dharma in the last couple of years. I went deep into reading what it is and what the effects are. If you believe it, it is like giving hope to yourself. When I sit for Pooja, I feel connected. I do chanting every day for an hour and feel good. So I believe in God.”

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up to essay the role of Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwary’s Ramayan. Other than this, Ranbir also has Brahmastra Part 2, Love & War with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, and Animal Park in the pipeline.
