Raid 2 box office collection day 2: After the Azaad debacle this year, Ajay Devgn has once again returned to the big screen, this time with the sequel to his 2018 hit film Raid, which earned Rs 154.19 crore worldwide. Raid 2, which opened to mixed reviews, earned Rs 19.25 crore on its opening day, about Rs 9 crore more than the opening-day collection of its predecessor. The numbers, however, saw a dip of about 38.96% on day 2, with the crime thriller earning just Rs 11.75 crore, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. This takes the film’s nett domestic collection to Rs 31 crore.

A similar trend was witnessed during the release of Ajay Devgn’s multi-starrer film Singham Again (2024), which opened at Rs 43.5 crore, but earned Rs 42.5 crore on day 2 and Rs 35.75 crore on day 3, barely reaching its breakeven point by earning a lifetime collection of Rs 372.4 crore worldwide. It was made on a reported budget of Rs 375 crore.

Raid 2 witnessed an overall occupancy of 19.23% on Friday with about 4711 shows scheduled across the country. About 150 shows were reduced on the second day compared to 4843 shows screened on the film’s opening day.

Raid 2’s opening day collection was better than Ajay Devgn’s 2024 hit Shaitaan, which collected Rs 14.75 crore on its release day and saw a massive growth over the weekend. Raid 2’s opening has also surpassed the lifetime collection of his recently released films Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha (2024) and Azaad (2025), which earned Rs 12.18 crore and Rs 7.42 crore, respectively.

Raid 2, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 120 crore (inclusive of advertising costs). While Raid was made on a budget of Rs 35 crore, according to Sacnilk. Raid 2 also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles. Ajay Devgn’s track record in recent years has been hit or miss. For every flop such as Singham Again and Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, he has delivered hits such as Drishyam 2 and Shaitaan as well.
