Raghu Ram, who is most widely known for his television stint with MTV Roadies, recently opened up about his marriage and shared that he gave up on a lot of things just so he could be with Natalie Di Luccio. Raghu and Natalie got married in 2018, years after first meeting each other. Raghu shared that since they both came from different religions, they decided to have a unique wedding, which had a curation of rituals from different regions and religions.

He shared on Couple of Things, “We did a Telugu wedding at the beach, and then, a Christian wedding, and then we had a few Punjabi rituals… basically, we curated the fun we wanted to have. Of course, there was also the court wedding because ours was an interfaith wedding, and there were some rules in place to get it registered.”

Raghu also spoke about the moment he first laid eyes on Natalie as she walked in her wedding finery, and made it to the aisle. “It felt like everything, and it was all positive. It was a reflection of how I came through a lot of things in my life, and what I was going through at that moment. It was… something,  I guess,” said Raghu, who also revealed that one big change that occurred in his life after the entry of Natalie.

He also shared that he gave up on smoking because Natalie wasn’t a smoker and she actually recoiled when Raghu leaned in to kiss her. “I used to be a heavy smoker. Finishing a pack or two daily was a routine. But when we started dating, I realised neither has she never smoked, she’s never dated a smoker,” he shared and added, “I remember taking her out on a date after we first connected. Before picking Natalie up from her place, I smoked at my house. So, when I picked her up, I leaned in for a kiss, and I still remember her knee-jerk reaction to the smell of cigarettes. ‘I forgot you smoke’ she said. I realised that if a future with her was on the cards, I couldn’t be a smoker anymore.”

Raghu revealed that he didn’t go back to have that ‘one last smoke’ and quit immediately. “It is going to be nine years this April. It wasn’t easy, honestly. It was frustrating, and I wanted to tear open my skin. I was suffering. But I didn’t want to not have a shot with her. So yeah…” said Raghu.
