Priyanka Chopra’s OTT film Heads of State released recently, showing her in an action avatar. Recently, while attending the London premiere of the film, the actor made a rare comment about her former rumoured boyfriend, actor Akshay Kumar. Praising his and Hollywood actor Tom Cruise’s action stunt skills in their movies, she spoke about her love for doing action films.

In a conversation with India Today, Priyanka acknowledged the skills of these actors, who are often seen doing high-octane action scenes, even without stunt doubles. “I love what Tom Cruise and Akshay Kumar do. They’re really good at that,” she said. However, she revealed that she hesitates in doing such sequences herself. “But, I don’t think I have the courage to hang off a plane that’s taking off or doing that kind of stuff.”

“But, I do love being a part of big mega movies. We do stand on the shoulders of so many people – there’s a massive stunt team that made me do all the things that I did,” the actor added, highlighting her desire to feature in large-scale films. Priyanka Chopra also opened up about the technical elements that are behind such action scenes, stating, “There are wires, mats and lots of it. So, it is the magic of the movies.”

Heads of State premiered on Amazon Prime Video from July 2. Directed by Ilya Naishuller, the American action comedy film features Priyanka Chopra, Idris Elba, and John Cena in lead roles, along with Jack Quaid, Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, and Carla Gugino in pivotal roles. In the movie, Priyanka essays the role of MI6 agent Noel Bisset, who is on a mission to depose a global conspiracy.

An excerpt from SCREEN’s review of Heads Of State, read, “Heads of State is written by the folks who originally conceptualised that mega-budget disaster, before it was creatively overhauled by the Russo brothers. The first thing that the new Prime Video boss did after getting the job was to cancel that train wreck of a franchise, which has also spawned two spin-offs. Chopra played a butt-kicking secret agent in that show, as she does in Heads of State. Heads of State has the unmistakable sheen of a streaming project shot entirely against green screens. It feels too curated, both visually and conceptually.”
