Priyanka Chopra is in Hyderabad for a film announcement with SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu? Watch her latest video

A few reports suggest that Priyanka is in Hyderabad to participate in a grand announcement for RRR director SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film, starring Mahesh Babu. This would be her first Indian film in over five years. Reacting to the video, a fan wrote in the comments section, “I’m literally praying to God that Priyanka must be the female character of ssmb29 movie ❤️❤️,” while another posted, “I hope she’s finalised.. That’d be seriously epic.”

If the reports are true, the film will also mark Priyanka Chopra’s comeback to Telugu cinema after 23 years. She was a part of P Ravi Shankar’s 2002 romantic drama Apuroopam. Her last Indian theatrical release was Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink in 2016. Priyanka was also attached to Farhan Akhtar’s buddy road movie Jee Le Zaraa, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif, but no clear updates about it is being shared by the makers.

In December last year, Priyanka revealed that she is close to zeroing in on a new Hindi project as she wants to return to her home turf. “Not joking, I meet many filmmakers here, read scripts. I have actively been looking for something I want to do in Hindi. This year was really busy for me. But I have something up my sleeve, I will leave it at that,” Priyanka said during a chat with HT City.

Priyanka Chopra has many international projects in the pipeline. Priyanka will be next seen in Heads of State, The Bluff, and Citadel season 2. She also has a holiday movie alongside the Jonas Brothers, for which she recently began filming in Toronto.
