Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently admitted not having watched the Oscar-winning Indian drama RRR. The SS Rajamouli directorial was a huge box office hit in India and garnered praise even in the West. After winning a Golden Globe, and two Critics Choice Awards (for Best Original Song and Best Foreign Film), RRR created history by picking up the Oscars trophy for its song ‘Naatu Naatu’. Priyanka had hosted the RRR team in the US during their Oscar campaign.
Priyanka recently took a lie-detector test where she was asked if she watched RRR. She replied in negative, telling Vanity Fair, “I just didn’t get time. I don’t watch a lot of movies but I watch a lot of TV shows. I watch Dubai Bling, but I won’t end up watching Tar.
Priyanka also shared her thoughts about actor Ram Charan, with whom she shared the screen in his Bollywood debut Zanjeer. She agreed that Charan is the Brad Pitt of India and added, “Ram has immense charisma. I don’t know Brad Pitt, I don’t know if he’s nice, but Ram is nice.” But she refused to choose who is more handsome between Pitt and Charan, as she said, “I grew up having a crush on Brad Pitt, so it’s kind of unfair to Ram to ask that question.”
When the interviewer asked PeeCee to pick between Ram Charan and Jr NTR, she ‘pleaded fifth’ as she didn’t want to get into trouble for picking between two of the most loved actors in India currently. She said, “I might have to plead the fifth on this one. They’re both very loved in my country, and I still need to go back often. Pleading the fifth.”
Ahead of the Oscars this year, Priyanka Chopra hosted the annual South Asian Excellence pre-Oscars bash at Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood which was attended by Ram Charan and his wife Upasana, and NTR Jr. She also hosted Charan and Upasana at her home in LA where the couple met her family and spent some good time with them.
