Late entrepreneur Sunjay Kapur would have turned 54 on Wednesday. The businessman had passed away in London during a polo match, triggering a high-profile dispute over his Rs 30,000 crore estate between Sunjay’s children with Karisma Kapoor and his widow Priya Sachdev Kapur. Entrepreneur Kalyani Saha Chawla, who also appeared in the show The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, took to Instagram to share a post on Sunjay’s birthday and called Priya Sachdeva his “soul mate and partner.”

In the post, Kalyani mentioned how Sunjay “planned his life meticulously and everybody else’s who he was responsible for.” She called them a “beautiful blended family” that he and Priya worked on. She wrote, “The biggest example of what Love really looked like With Priya. His soul mate and partner who truly was the woman behind this very successful man which he became.”

‘Priya was the woman behind this successful man’

Kalyani called Sunjay a “dedicated father who had worked on a constitution, literally, to make sure the children will always be ok.” Talking about the dispute over his Rs 30,000 crore estate, Kalyani wrote, “And it is this very planning in his methodical OCD manner that today I see crumbling as the love is fragmented. Grief brings in confusion. Loss brings in insecurities. But Sunj had worked so hard to make sure that even today nobody can really question that. I want my Sunj to rest in peace. I want him to know (someday soon) there may have been a hiccup but it’s water under that bridge. He always made ripples… all his life. But he needs to know this storm needs to pass for the calm to bring back his dearest ones… together and in harmony. I pray for his soul to rest in peace… Soon.”

Sunjay Kapur’s sister writes note

Meanwhile, Sunjay’s sister Mandhira also posted on the late entrepreneur’s birthday. She shared old unseen photos of Sunjay with his family, in which Karisma and his kids — Samaira and Kiaan — are also seen. She wrote, “Happy Birthday, my dearest Bhaiya.”

She added, “This day wraps me in a thousand memories — childhood laughter echoing through our home, birthday candles flickering between us, and your mischievous grin that could melt any storm away. I still see you — that confident, charming boy who grew into a man so full of life, so full of love, so full of light. Fearless, radiant, and endlessly kind, you were always larger than life. You carried our family’s name and legacy with quiet strength and unwavering pride. You took the torch our father lit and made its flame burn even brighter — lighting the path for all of us who follow.”

Lamenting Sunjay’s death, she wrote, “Today, the world feels quieter without you, yet your presence surrounds us in the love that still binds those who truly knew and cherished you. We hold close your values — truth, loyalty, and grace — and we keep your memory pure and untouched, guarding it from any shadow that dares to dim your light or distort your intent.”

Mandhira went on to write how she misses Sunjay. “But even in your absence, you and Dad remain our eternal guides — our light in the dark, our reminder of what it means to live with courage, honour, and love. Your light will never fade Bhaiya. You live on in our hearts, in our blood, and in every heartbeat of this family,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Karisma Kapoor and Priya Sachdeva both took to social media to pay tribute to Sunjay on his birthday.
