Model-actor Poonam Pandey announced ‘I am alive’ a day after reports of her death from cervical cancer flooded the internet. Poonam posted two Instagram videos on Saturday and informed her fans that she did this to spread awareness about cervical cancer and HPV vaccine. She also went live on social media and apologised to her fans and friends.
Poonam said on Instagram live that she wants to apologize to her friends and loved ones for hurting them. The actor added that she is feeling terrible and she is getting an insane number of calls and messages. After the news of death spread online, celebs like Kangana Ranaut, Munawar Faruqui, Karan Kundrra and Rakhi Sawant among others mourned her death.
Poonam continued, “It’s a terrible feeling. I am shivering right now. My friends are very angry, and don’t know if they will even talk to me. My PR team had no clue where I was, I went underground.” The model revealed that she did this because a lot of people in India are not aware about cervical cancer.
An Instagram post on Friday on Poonam’s official handle read, “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”
