Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 continues to witness decent footfall in the theatres in its second week as well. The film, starring Yami Gautam Dhar and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead, earned Rs 3.20 crore on Tuesday, bringing its total collection to Rs 120.62 crore, reported industry tracker Sacnilk. The film is benefitting from positive word-of-mouth. As against the earlier prediction about OMG 2 getting affected due to a clash with Gadar 2, the film is surviving well at the ticket counters. It has become Akshay Kumar's best box office performer this year. In comparison, Gadar 2 has minted Rs 400.10 crores. It is now only the second Hindi film to have made that record at the box office. In an interview with indianexpress.com, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam had spoken about OMG 2 and had called it an "important film". Watch: OMG 2 and Gadar 2 have brought back people to the cinema halls. Along with them, Rajinikanth's Jailer has also been lapped up by the audience. Its total earnings at the box office currently stands at Rs 291.80 crore. OMG 2 has Akshay Kumar in an extended cameo role as the messenger of Lord Shiva. However, it is Pankaj Tripathi who steals the show in the film. In an interview with Indianexpress.com, when asked how he looks at the film’s spectacular box office run against all odds, Tripathi said that the success feels rewarding but he doesn't understand audiences' obsession with box office numbers. He said, "Box office collections do make me feel good. I understand the importance of numbers. When a film works, the producers benefit, our value increases and we all will benefit. But what baffles me are the arguments that happen on Twitter, that a film has entered the 100 crore club or some such crore club. I’m like, 'ye kaun log hai jinhe apne jeevan se zyada film ki kamayi ki chinta hai' (Who are these people more concerned about a film’s collection than their lives)?"
