Om Raut slams criticism over Lord Ram’s ‘angry man depiction’ in Adipurush: ‘He is a king in the war field, he is aggressive’
Om Raut also wondered what was wrong with using graphics. "Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana made an impact on me and we created Adipurush to make an impact on future generations."

In spite of its remarkable success in the business aspect during the weekend, Adipurush remains entangled in controversies, particularly owing to its subpar visual effects and colloquial dialogues. Apart from that, a PIL has also been filed against the makers of Adipurush for showing Lord Ram as an angry man and for taking creative liberty with the film.
Reacting to this, the film’s director Om Raut, during an interview with Republic World, said: “He is in the war field, he is in the middle of a war, he is also a king, so he is aggressive, he is in the war space”.
“It’s a rumour that Lord Ram never lost his temper. If you study Valmiki’s version or Tulsi’s version of Ramayana, this will become clear,” film’s dialogue writer and lyricist Manoj Muntashir added. When the interviewer pointed out that the use of graphics to portray the same might have stirred controversy, Raut asked what was wrong with using graphics. “When, as a child, I saw Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana, it was phenomenal. It created a great impact on me. They used technology which was extremely modern for that period. We had never seen anything like that on TV before that. That work made an impact on me and we created Adipurush to make an impact on future generations.”
The makers of Adipurush on Sunday decided to change certain controversial dialogues of the film after they received backlash for “distorting and disrespecting” the epic. The backlash prompted Muntashir, a three-time national award winner, to release a statement that he penned more than 4,000 lines in Adipurush but some sentiments got hurt “because of five lines”. He also announced that the controversial dialogues will be altered.
“I can give countless arguments in favour of my dialogues, but this will not reduce your pain. I and the producer-director of the film have decided that some of the dialogues which are hurting you, we’ll revise them. They’ll be added to the film this week. May Shri Ram bless you all,” he said.
Meanwhile, during another interview, Manoj Muntashir said that he completely trusted Om Raut during the making of the film and asserted that all questions regarding its story and screenplay should be asked to Raut.
