Nargis Fakhri shares first post after sister Aliya’s arrest for murder, mother says, ‘She was a caring person’
Nargis Fakhri has reportedly not been in touch with her sister, Aliya, who has been accused of killing her ex-boyfriend.

Actor Nargis Fakhri’s sister Aliya was arrested recently for allegedly murdering her ex-boyfriend and his friend. Nargis hasn’t yet commented on the matter, and a recent report suggests that the sisters have been estranged for decades. Hours after news of Aliya’s arrest broke, Nargis took to social media to share her first post, but it had nothing to do with the incident. Instead, she was promoting her upcoming film Housefull 5. The picture also featured her co-stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Sonam Bajwa, and carried the caption, “We are coming for you.”
An India Today report cited a source as saying that Aliya and Nargis hadn’t been in touch for years. “She has not been in touch with her sister for over 20 years. The actor learned about the incident through the news, just like everyone else,” the source stated.
Aliya is said to have set fire to the garage of her ex-partner and his friend, after he allegedly rejected her advances to rekindle their relationship. The deceased persons have been identified as Edward Jacobs (35), and Anastasia Ettienne (33). The incident took place in the Queens neighbourhood of New York. Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz told the media that Aliya had been indicted on murder in the first degree and related charges. Aliya’s mother expressed disbelief. “I don’t think she would be killing someone,” she told the New York Daily News. “She was a person caring for everybody.”

The alleged crime took place on November 2. Katz said in a statement, “Soon after, a witness who was inside the property came downstairs and discovered that the building was on fire. Ettienne was alerted to the fire and went downstairs briefly. The woman then returned upstairs in an attempt to save Jacobs, who was sleeping. The building became engulfed with flames and neither Jacobs nor Ettienne could escape.”
Nargis made her Bollywood debut with Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar, starring Ranbir Kapoor. She has also appeared in films such as Madras Cafe, Main Tera Hero, Azhar, and more.
