Actor Mukesh Khanna has been in the spotlight for a while, though not for the right reasons. From his staunch Hindutva views and perceived Islamophobia to taking potshots at Bollywood stars, Mukesh has been at the centre of several controversies. The 66-year-old actor recently stirred up yet another storm while announcing the return of his iconic television superhero character Shaktimaan, claiming that not even Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn or Ranveer Singh could embody Shaktimaan the way he does — a statement that parked a polarised reaction online. While some slammed him for tarnishing the legacy of a beloved show, others voiced their support.

Adding fuel to the fire, a video of Mukesh scolding paparazzi during a press meet has gone viral, further cementing his controversial public image. In the video, Mukesh, dressed in his Shaktimaan costume, can be seen yelling at the paparazzi for talking amongst themselves while he was addressing them.

Arey ek second ruk jao. Kyu bolte hain aap log? Oye! Kaun bol raha hai wahan pe? Yaar aap log kitne bhi senior ho, just keep quiet! Aapne mujhe bulaya bolne ke liye, sunte kyu nahi phir? Jo baat karni hai bahar le ke jao na (Hey, stop for a second. Why are you talking? Hey! Who is talking there? No matter how senior you are, just keep quiet! You called me to speak, why don’t you listen? hatever you want to discuss, take that outside),” he can be heard saying.

Mukesh’s remarks drew sharp criticism from social media users, with many calling out his behaviour. “If ‘You either die a hero…or live long enough to become a villain’ had a face,” an Instagrammer commented. “Dhire dhire pata chalega, yehi Kilvish hai (Gradually you will come to know that he is Tamraj Kilvish, the main antagonist in Shaktimaan show),” another netizen wrote. Meanwhile, another Instagrammer quipped, “Sorry Shaktiman bolke matter close karo 😂😂.”
