Mirzapur actor Amit Sial dismisses Taapsee Pannu’s complaints against industry outsiders as ‘nuisance talk’: ‘Should they have a kitty party?’

Amit Sial said that it isn't wise to compare industry friendships to outsiders, as the former grew up together and share a different bond with each other.

The debate about nepo-kids and outsiders in the film industry has been going on for years now, with outsiders complaining that having no access to movie folks makes their journey harder. In a recent interview, Taapsee Pannu, whose production company is called Outsiders Films, said that nepo-kids often stick by each other in adverse circumstances and support each other’s films. She also mentioned that this kind of support is usually not seen among the so-called outsiders. When Mirzapur and Maharani actor Amit Sial was asked about her comments, he called it “nuisance talk.”

In a chat with YouTube channel Switch, Amit was told about Taapsee’s comments and asked to share his thoughts about the same, as an outsider himself. Amit immediately said that the star kids have grown up together and have been friends since childhood, which is bound to make their bond stronger. He also said that this cannot happen with outsiders, as most of them come from different backgrounds and meet each other only after they start working together.

“They have gone to the same school, and have grown up together, they are friends with each other. If they are star kids, they shouldn’t be friends with each other?” he asked. The interviewer clarified that Taapsee meant that “outsiders don’t have as much love for each other,” and Amit reacted by saying, “Why would that be? How is it even possible? You don’t know each other since your childhood.”

When the interviewer asked if outsiders should stand by each other, Amit disappointingly said, “This is called nuisance talk. It doesn’t mean anything. If you become friends, you do. If you don’t, then you don’t. Just because we are outsiders, should we have a kitty party? That we will now form a group and band together? It doesn’t work like that in life. Life has its organic way. Those star kids are from here, from Mumbai. They have studied together, grown up together. Their parents are all friends with each other. That’s a different relationship.”

Taapsee made her comments in a chat with ANI. She had said, “Irrespective of the quality of the film or its success, they (star kids) stick to each other. That is not there in us, outsiders.” She also added, “I think, somewhere deep down, we will all keep feeling insecure with each other. The level of insecurity is more than what the industry kids have.”
