Mira Kapoor is ‘proud’ of brother-in-law Ishaan Khatter after watching Pippa: ‘Target destroyed’

Mira Kapoor is a proud sister-in-law after watching Ishaan Khatter’s latest release Pippa. After attending the premiere on Wednesday night, she posted an Instagram story congratulating the team. She also called the film ‘fantastic’ and referring to his character, she mentioned how Ishaan had destroyed the target.

“Take a bow Team PIPPA! Fantastic film with a thumping heart, grit, evocative emotion and sincerity. So proud of you @ishaankhatter! Target destroyed! Music that thrills & kills!” Mira wrote while sharing the photos of Ishaan with his team members.

The star-studded premiere night was also attended by Pippa actors Mrunal Thakur and Soni Razdan. Co-producers Ronnie Scewvalla, Siddharth Roy Kapur, his wife Vidya Balan and brother Aditya Roy Kapur, music director AR Rahman also made their presence felt. Other guests captured at the event included Ali Fazal, Sobhita Dhulipal, Vijay Varma, Javed Akhter, Rasika Duggal, Mukul Chaddha, Shreya Dhanwantary, Kunal Kemmu, Nimrat Kaur, Ishwak Singh, and more.

Pippa follows Battle of Garibpur, a pivotal conflict during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971, which played a significant role in Bangladesh’s fight for independence with the help of Indian Army. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, the film is based on the book The Burning Chaffees, written by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta, essayed by Ishaan in the film.

During the promotions of Pippa, Ishaan Khatter had opened up about how his bond with elder brother Shahid Kapoor, stating how their relationship is not ‘typical’ and added that he is like a father figure in his life.

In an interview with Etimes, Ishaan said that in every relationship, especially the one with siblings, there will be friction. The actor added that he and Shahid do not have a ‘typical’ or ‘traditional’ sibling relationship because Shahid is 15 years older to him. He said that to have that kind of friendship and banter, siblings should be closer in age.

Ishaan Khatter said that Shahid Kapoor is the one who is constantly there for him and said that the Jab We Met actor is like a ‘father figure’ in his life. Ishaan said that while there is a line of respect between the two, there has been more friendship ever since Ishaan has grown into an adult. He added that Shahid is one of the ‘predominant male figures’ in his life and said that he is ‘internally beautiful’.
