After saying that his daughter is an ‘angrez’ who does not speak in Hindi, actor Manoj Bajpayee recently shared that his daughter Ava Nayla’s proficiency in Hindi is slowly improving. During an appearance on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, he stressed on the importance of speaking Hindi or their preferred regional language at home.

He said that since his daughter does not speak in Hindi at her school, it is essential for him to converse in the language at home. He said, “Because my daughter is now getting good marks in Hindi and slowly her Hindi is improving. Because she wasn’t speaking Hindi in school and even if we don’t speak then there will be a problem. Phir toh woh Tayor Swift hi sunegi.”

The actor told Bharti and Haarsh, who are new parents, that if they don’t speak in their regional language to their child, then they miss out on learning it altogether. “Punjabi or Gujarati, whatever you want to teach your kid, speak to them in those languages from the beginning. In Mumbai, kids will not learn their language unless you speak to them.”

Manoj had previously revealed that Ava’s Hindi teacher was disappointed because she expected her to be better at the language, considering her father’s work. To improve, Ava started watching daily soaps on television. He told Janice Sequeira, Puri angrez hai woh. Usse daant padti rehti hai phir bhi nahi bolti woh (She’s a foreigner. She gets scolded about this, but she doesn’t improve). Imagine what must be happening to her Hindi teacher. At the PTM, you know what she said? ‘Manoj ji, what is this, I was so happy to know your daughter is in my class. She doesn’t even speak Hindi.”

On the work front, Manoj was recently seen in the film Silence 2 opposite Prachi Desai.
